The Achievement Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Text Box: Our Mission
The Achievement Academy is dedicated to helping children with neurological disorders such as Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism (and related disorders), ADHD and specific learning disorders lead satisfying and productive lives by offering them an environment that recognizes, values and supports their unique qualities and individual styles of learning.
In order to help our students achieve their full potential, our school will provide an individualized academic curriculum, community-based instruction and social skills training.
Text Box: Our Vision
The Achievement Academy’s goal is to create a partnership among the school, home and the community where our students will be offered an opportunity to acquire the academic, social and life skills necessary to be successful in daily living.
It is envisioned that The Achievement Academy will become a model educational resource that will be viewed by students, their families, educators, and health professionals as the premier source to which they will turn for effective, innovative and comprehensive educational strategies and social skills programs.

Finally, your children can attend a school that . . .

¨ Offers the best of both worlds by...

(a) offering a small, structured learning environment specifically designed to address their diverse learning styles, attention deficits, and challenges in socialization,  AND

(b) providing an opportunity to be around typically-developing children during lunch breaks and recess - with the necessary supports to enhance appropriate social interaction.

¨ Incorporates social skills classes into the curriculum, because academic achievement alone does not ensure success in society, especially if they have a social skills deficiency.

¨ Teaches age-appropriate life skills necessary to manage the demands of daily life in the home, community and future work.

¨ Utilizes research based programs designed to ensure mastery of skills and maximize learning.

¨ Follows the evidence-based School-Wide Positive Behavior Supports Model to develop and reinforce students appropriate behavioral expectations.

¨ Provides intensive and consistent daily social skills interventions and training to help facilitate friendships and appropriate peer relationships.

¨ Has small class sizes which allows greater flexibility to address social situations in the moment and in context.

¨ Offers them a safe, nurturing environment that understands and celebrates their wonderful uniqueness.
